Connect your microphone or headset before opening the lesson. Built-in microphones usually work, but an external microphone or headset can improve clarity.
Make sure the microphone is not muted on the headset, keyboard, operating system, or browser tab.
Close other apps that may already be using the microphone, such as video meeting apps, voice recorders, or communication tools.
Start the LingoLesson audio recording activity and allow microphone access when your browser asks.

Troubleshooting Audio Recording
If the browser never asks for permission, check whether microphone access is blocked in the browser's site settings or in the operating system privacy settings.
If the wrong microphone is used, choose the correct input device in the browser or operating system settings, then refresh LingoLesson and try again.
If the recording is silent, check headset mute switches, system input volume, Bluetooth connection status, and whether another app is already using the microphone.
If audio is distorted or cuts out, move closer to the microphone, reduce background noise, and avoid Bluetooth devices with low battery or unstable connections.
If you are using privacy extensions, content blockers, antivirus browser protection, or strict tracking protection, add LingoLesson as an exception.
If you opened LingoLesson from an email app, QR code reader, learning platform frame, or social media app, copy the link and open it directly in the supported browser instead.
If your device is managed by a school or workplace, an administrator may need to allow browser microphone access.
